The International Student and Scholar Services (ISSS) Office
serves and supports Virginia Tech’s international community in the
National Capital Region. The office is responsible for international
graduate students and exchange students throughout the six Virginia Tech
extended campuses in northern Virginia.
The ISSS Office is part of the Graduate Student Services Office (GSSO). The GSSO is a satellite office of the Graduate School on the main campus in Blacksburg, and handles academic and administrative matters such as Graduate Education Week, student workshops, in-state or out-of-state classification, and changing departments or graduate programs in the National Capital Region.
The Northern Virginia Center (NVC) is located in Falls Church in the heart of Northern Virginia approximately 15 miles south of Washington, D.C. It is located off of Interstate 66 near Route 7 (Leesburg Pike), adjacent to the West Falls Church Metro station and next to George Mason Middle and High School. The NVC can also be easily accessed from major routes such as Routes 50 and 29.

International Student and Scholar Advisor
The Graduate Student Services Offices (GSSO) are located in rooms 407, 409, 410, and 411 at the Northern Virginia Center. The offices are open from 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM Monday - Friday. GSSO staff can assist with academic and administrative issues, and the international student advisor can assist with immigration matters and questions.
