RUSSIAN
GEOPOLITICAL CULTURE IN THE WAKE OF 9-11.

In
December 2001, the National Science Foundation funded a small grant for expeditious
research (SGER) proposal by Dr Gerard Toal (Gearóid Ó Tuathail), School of
Public and International Affairs, Virginia Tech, Dr John O'Loughlin, Institute
of Behavioral Science and Department of Geography, University of Colorado,
Boulder and Dr Vladimir Kolossov, Institute of Geography of the Russian Academy
of Sciences, Moscow, in the wake of the 9/11 attacks (also pictured above
with the researchers in St Petersburg in May 2003 is Dr David Newman). A research
visit to Moscow in January 2002 set up a public opinion survey which was conducted
by FOM in April 2002. The research results were written up in 2002-2006. The
publications are listed below. The project has formally concluded.
