Master of Urban and Regional Planning Application Requirements


A complete application for admission consists of:

  1. A completed application form. Applying online will expedite the processing of your application. http://www.applyweb.com/apply/vtg/indexa.html
  2. Two official and up-to-date copies of all transcripts of the applicant's undergraduate and graduate record (One set of transcripts MUST be sent directly from the institution to the Graduate School in Blacksburg).
  3. Three letters of recommendation, preferably from former professors and/or supervisors;
  4. Graduate Record Examination (GRE) scores and TOEFL scores (if applicable). Virginia Tech’s code is #005859. The Graduate School requires official test scores sent directly from ETS.
  5. A $45.00 non-refundable application fee. All credentials submitted in support of an application become the property of the university.

Deadlines:

All application materials must be received by the appropriate deadline in order for your application to be considered. Though the Alexandria Center accepts applications on a rolling basis, please be aware the process can take 6 to 8 weeks. University deadlines for applications are as follows:

Fall: June 30
Spring: December 1
