Peter Katz
Peter Katz is Professor in Practice at Virginia Tech's Urban Affairs and Planning program in Alexandria. Katz is an urban theorist, marketing consultant and community design advocate. He is title author of The New Urbanism; Toward an Architecture of Community, (McGraw-Hill, 1994). The book documents an urban design movement which seeks to reintegrate the components of modern urban and suburban life into compact pedestrian-friendly communities efficiently linked with the larger regional infrastructure.
As the founding principal of San Francisco-based Stratagem Consultants, Katz has directed numerous real estate marketing projects. The firm seeks innovative solutions that clearly express the most positive aspects of a project's physical design social mission and architectural character. Clients have included the Prudential Realty Group, Port of Oakland, Weyerhaeuser Real Estate Company, Embarcadero Center Limited and the Joseph Alfindre Company.
