Building Services

Building services for the Northern Virginia Center (NVC) are contracted to a property management company through Virginia Tech's Facilities Services, Physical Plant at the main campus in Blacksburg, Virginia. The Facilities staff, on-site at the NVC, act as liaison with the property manager and building engineer on issues related to building services, vendor services, property and security.

Services Provided By Vendors

University departments at the NVC that require vendor services can send an email to Facilities (Admin) at facilities@vt.edu for direction and scheduling of services through the property engineer's office.

Examples of services billable to departments:

  • Carpet or chair cleaning
  • Electrical outlets
  • Furniture assembly
  • Locksmith services
  • Office and building keys
  • Office painting
  • Parking vouchers
  • Renovation work
    (Note renovation work must be approved by the NVC Space Committee chaired by the Center Director.)

Services Provided By The Building Engineer

Camelot property management office provides property management services and contracts for the following vendor provided services:

  • General building repairs
  • HVAC needs
  • Interior plant care
  • Landscaping
  • Lightening issues (interior/exterior)
  • Parking lot maintenance
  • Parking services
  • Restroom and kitchen maintenance and stocking
  • Security guard services
  • Trash and recycling removal
  • Vacuuming
  • White-board cleaning
  • Window cleaning (all)

Services Provided By NVC Facilities Department

Facilities can schedule and perform small maintenance type tasks or jobs for Center departments.  Schedule with Facilities to have the following, non-billable services scheduled and performed.

  • Hanging pictures, office whiteboards, or bulletin boards
  • Help with moving equipment or boxes, bookshelves or cabinets
  • Relocate or repair keyboard trays
  • Assemble or fix small office furniture
